How to Clear Cache & Cookies

When you use a browser, it saves some information from websites in its cache and cookies. Clearing them fixes certain problems, like loading or formatting issues on sites.

Below are the instructions to clear the cache and cookies in Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox.

Microsoft Edge

Step 1: Open Edge

1. Open Edge

Step 2: Access the Safety Menu

1. Click on the gear icon in the upper-right corner to open the Tools menu.
2. Select Safety .

Step 3: Delete Browsing History

1. Click on Delete browsing history... .

Step 4: Select Data to Delete

1. Check the boxes for Temporary Internet files and website files and Cookies and website data .
2. Click Delete .

Google Chrome

Step 1: Open Google Chrome

1. Open Google Chrome.

Step 2: Access Clear Browsing Data

1. Click on the three dots in the upper-right corner to open the menu.
2. Select Clear browsing data... .

Step 3: Choose Time Range and Data Types

1. In the pop-up window, select the time range for which you want to clear data (e.g., Last hour , Last 24 hours , All time ).
2. Check the boxes for Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files .

Step 4: Clear Data

1. Click on Clear data .

Mozilla Firefox

Step 1: Open Mozilla Firefox

1. Open Mozilla Firefox.

Step 2: Access Options

1. Click on the three horizontal lines in the upper-right corner to open the menu.
2. Select Settings .

Step 3: Go to Privacy & Security

1. In the left sidebar, click on Privacy & Security .

Step 4: Clear Data

1. Scroll down to the Cookies and Site Data section.
2. Click on Clear Data... .

Step 5: Select Data to Clear

1. Check the boxes for Cookies and Site Data and Cached Web Content .
2. Click on Clear .

Safari

Step 1: Open Safari

1. Open Safari.

Step 2: Access Settings

1. Click on Safari in the top menu bar.
2. Select Settings .

Step 3: Go to the Privacy Tab

1. In the Preferences window, click on the Privacy tab.

Step 4: Manage Website Data

1. Click on Manage Website Data... .

Step 5: Remove All or Specific Data

1. To remove all data, click on Remove All .
2. To remove data for specific sites, select the site(s) and click on Remove .
